Iowa Deserves Better
GOP Rep. Ashley Hinson’s record is clear: she puts herself and special interests ahead of Iowa families. Iowa deserves leaders who put people first, champion our values, and work every day to build a better future for all of us.
Iowa’s Economy Suffers While Hinson Profits
Iowa ranks 49th in economic growth and has the lowest wages in the Midwest. Meanwhile, Rep. Ashley Hinson’s personal wealth has tripled since she went to Washington, D.C. to “represent Iowa.”
A decent elected official puts constituents’ prosperity ahead of personal gain—fighting for higher wages, stronger local economies, and policies that benefit working families.
Hurting Iowa Families
Under Trump’s policies, nearly 200,000 Iowans lost their jobs, and household costs rose by $1,303 in 2025 due to Trump’s tariffs—tariffs Hinson supported. [Source]
A true public servant stands against policies that harm working Iowans and works to lower costs, protect jobs, and ensure families can thrive.
Putting Kids at Risk
Hinson voted for the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," cutting $187 billion from SNAP. Starting April 1st, over 100,000 Iowa children will lose access to food.
A responsible leader protects vulnerable children and ensures no child goes hungry in our state.
Endangering Iowa’s Water
Hinson weakened the Clean Water Act and blocked EPA pesticide regulations, all while accepting Big Ag donations. The Iowa DNR now flags 720 rivers, lakes, and wetlands as too dangerous for swimming or fishing. Iowa’s water crisis continues to worsen under her watch.
A decent representative safeguards Iowa’s natural resources, puts public health before special interests, and strengthens environmental protections for future generations.
Turning Her Back on Cancer Patients
Iowa has the 2nd highest rate of new cancer cases in the country, with rates rising rapidly. Hinson supported budget cuts that halted 383 NIH-funded clinical trials, many focused on cancer. Over 21,000 Iowans are diagnosed each year, and 6,300 die. Early-onset cancer rates are 5% higher than the national average in the Corn Belt, with Iowa ranked 5th nationwide.
A compassionate official fights for medical research, supports affordable healthcare, and prioritizes lifesaving treatments for Iowans.
Blocking Access to Healthcare
Hinson calls the Affordable Care Act “socialism,” yet she and her family benefit from taxpayer-funded insurance. Nearly a third of Iowa farmers rely on the ACA. Hinson voted to double healthcare premiums for Iowans, remove insulin price caps, and strip healthcare from 114,000 Iowa children.
A fair leader expands healthcare access, lowers costs, and ensures every Iowan—especially children and rural families—can get the care they need.
Failing Iowa Women and Rural Families
Hinson supports Iowa’s extreme “fetal heartbeat” law and introduced a near-total abortion ban in Congress with no exceptions. Iowa ranks last in OB-GYNs per capita and most rural counties lack OB-GYN units, putting pregnant Iowans at risk.
A decent official trusts women to make their own healthcare decisions and works to improve rural healthcare access for all families.
Infrastructure Hypocrisy
Hinson voted against the Infrastructure and Jobs Act, which delivers $5 billion for Iowa’s roads and bridges—then takes credit at ribbon-cuttings.
A principled leader supports investments that benefit communities and is honest about their record.
Prioritizing Millionaires, Not Iowans
She supports raising the Social Security retirement age to 69 and slashing taxes for the wealthy—including herself—while adding $4.1 trillion to the national debt.
A decent representative protects retirement security and designs tax policy with middle-class Iowans in mind, not just the wealthy few.
Turning Her Back on Farmers
Hinson backed Trump’s trade war and the $40 billion Argentina bailout, costing Iowa farmers $600 million in sales and fueling farm bankruptcies. Brazil now outsells Iowa farmers in China, with the state losing up to $1.4 billion in soybean revenue.
A true steward of Iowa agriculture opens new markets, fights for fair trade, and keeps family farms strong.
