DEMANDING DECENCY AND HONESTY FROM IOWA'S ELECTED OFFICIALS
In our great state of Iowa, we hold our leaders to high standards because we know that integrity is the bedrock of strong communities. Our elected officials represent not just our policies, but our values. We expect—and deserve—decency and honesty from those we entrust with public office. Decency means treating every Iowan with respect, listening to diverse voices, and putting the needs of the people first. Honesty means speaking the truth, even when it’s difficult, and making decisions based on facts, not political expediency.
We call on our elected officials to:
-
Be transparent in their actions and communications
-
Stand up for what is right, even in the face of pressure
-
Admit mistakes and correct them openly
-
Prioritize the well-being of all Iowans over personal or party interests
